About this position
The University of Nottingham is recruiting a Research Associate/Fellow to join the multidisciplinary PROBITY project: A Platform to Rate Organisms Bred for Improved Traits and Yield. Based in the School of Biosciences at Sutton Bonington Campus, the project examines how precision-bred crops may be taken up in the UK and beyond.
The successful researcher will use social science methods to understand barriers to the adoption of precision-bred crops. The work will involve collaborating with Dr Stacia Stetkiewicz, Assistant Professor of Sustainable Agricultural Systems, and project partners at the British On Farm Innovation Network (BOFIN). The researcher will engage with a broad range of stakeholders involved in the future of sustainable agriculture, food systems, agricultural biotechnology, and precision breeding.
The role offers the opportunity to contribute to an interdisciplinary research environment, work with experienced researchers, and liaise with partner institutions across the UK. Research activities will draw on qualitative approaches and may include interviews, workshops, and textual analysis, alongside engagement with responsible research and innovation practices.
The position is based at Sutton Bonington, with hybrid and remote working considered for candidates located in the UK. Researchers will also have access to training and development opportunities at the University of Nottingham.
