About this position

The Research Fellow will join the Sydney School of Public Health at the University of Sydney to support health economics research on a preconception lifestyle intervention for women planning pregnancy. The project centres on the economic evaluation of a randomised controlled trial, with work spanning quality-of-life analysis and methods for combining maternal and infant quality-adjusted life years.

The role sits within one of Australia’s leading public health schools and contributes to the School’s broader research activity in public health and health economics. The appointee will work under the leadership of Professors Alison Hayes and Kirsten Howard, contributing to research output and the wider academic environment of the Leeder Centre and the School of Public Health.

Core research activities include advanced health economic analysis, micro-costing, and methods for incorporating spillovers into economic evaluation. The position includes collaboration with multidisciplinary researchers as well as industry and policy stakeholders, with an emphasis on delivering research impact. It also involves supervision and support of postgraduate research students, including master’s research projects, alongside mentoring and support for junior researchers.
