The research will span robotics, autonomous systems, control, and machine learning, with opportunities to work on advanced robotics technologies and systems integration.

Applicants should hold a BS or MS in electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field, and possess strong skills in control, machine learning, dynamics modeling, autonomous systems, and embedded systems. Preferred technical skills include Linux, ROS, Docker, Python, C++, Issac Lab, MuJoCo, and prior publication experience. International applicants must provide proof of English proficiency.

The position offers full funding, including tuition, health insurance, and a stipend. Interested candidates should apply to ASU, indicate their interest in working with Prof. Jiefeng Sun, and email their CV, transcript, and cover letter to [email protected] before submitting their application. Prof.

Sun can advise students in the Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Robotics and Autonomous Systems PhD programs. The application deadline is December 28, 2026. For more details, candidates can review the program links provided.
