About this position

The James Watt School of Engineering at the University of Glasgow is seeking a full-time Research Assistant/Associate to join the HEALTHCARE QUEST project, working under the guidance of Prof Jonathan Cooper, Prof Aleksandra Vuckovic, and Dr Julien Le Kernec. This postdoctoral position is funded until 31st August 2027 and focuses on the development and application of sensing technologies for in-home health monitoring. The successful candidate will be involved in data collection from volunteers and/or patients, utilizing a range of sensors including motion capture and radar systems.

The project aims to capture and analyze data to interpret health-related outcomes, particularly in relation to pain assessment, and to integrate these findings with survey and questionnaire data. The role also includes contributing to the preparation of further grant applications to extend the research based on project outcomes. The position requires compliance with the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020, including membership in the PVG Scheme and obtaining a Research Passport with pre-employment checks such as Occupational Health clearance.

The University of Glasgow supports visa sponsorship for eligible candidates under the Skilled Worker visa route. The James Watt School of Engineering provides a collaborative and inclusive research environment, with a strong commitment to equality and diversity. For more information about the school, visit their website. Interested candidates should apply online and may contact Prof Jonathan Cooper for informal enquiries.

This is an excellent opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher with expertise in biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or related fields, and with experience in sensing technologies and data analysis, to contribute to impactful healthcare research in a leading UK institution.

Funding details
