About this position
The Mathematical Institute at the University of Oxford is offering the prestigious Titchmarsh Research Fellowships for talented postdoctoral researchers in pure mathematics. The fellowship is designed for researchers who want the freedom to pursue an independent research programme while joining a substantial cohort of fellowship researchers at the Institute.
The post sits within Oxford’s Mathematical Institute and is aligned with one of its core research communities. Candidates should identify the research group that best matches their work from areas including algebra, combinatorics, geometry, history of mathematics, logic, number theory, OxPDE, functional analysis, stochastic analysis, and topology. The Institute also notes a related Hooke Research Fellow scheme in applied mathematics, and applicants whose work spans both schemes are encouraged to apply separately.
The fellowship is full-time and fixed-term, with access to office space, a desktop computer, and support for travel and other academic expenses. Fellows are also expected to contribute limited teaching during the academic year as part of their professional development, with duties determined by departmental needs.
This opportunity is aimed at researchers who have already produced excellent work during their PhD and any postdoctoral appointments, and who can strengthen the research profile of the Mathematical Institute through a strong, relevant research plan.
