About this position

Stanford University’s Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Group in the Department of Radiology and Bioengineering is recruiting two postdoctoral researchers to join work on advanced cardiovascular MRI and hemodynamics.

The projects are centered on the development and evaluation of Fontan circulation emulators for congenital heart disease research, especially in children with a single functional ventricle who undergo the Fontan procedure. The work combines cardiovascular MRI, flow imaging, image analysis, bench-top cardiovascular experiments, and CFD/FSI simulation. One project focuses on conduit upsizing and resulting flow/pressure changes; the other focuses on hepatic flow distribution.

The emulators are described as patient-specific, MRI-compatible, computer-controlled, and quantitatively evaluated using advanced experimental and computational methods. The lab also notes recent and upcoming publications related to this work.

Applicants should be PhD-level scientists with experience in one or more of the following: cardiovascular flow imaging, cardiovascular experiments, cardiovascular image analysis, or cardiovascular FSI/CFD. The appointment is two years and fully funded, with a start date around September 2026.

To apply, send a CV plus PDFs of recent abstracts and published papers to Daniel Ennis at [email protected]. Interviews begin immediately.
