About this position
The University School for Advanced Studies IUSS Pavia in Italy will soon launch recruitment for a two-year Postdoctoral Researcher position within a Horizon Europe research project.
The project focuses on high-resolution Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of urban microclimate using the open-source OpenFOAM tool. Research will investigate the combined effects of wind flow, temperature, and pollutant dispersion in urban environments.
Applicants must hold a PhD and have strong CFD expertise, including complex-geometry modeling, high-resolution computational-grid construction, and steady RANS and transient LES simulations. Knowledge of atmospheric sciences, urban physics, statistical analysis, and numerical-result evaluation is required. Strong programming skills in C++, MATLAB, and Python are expected, together with an interest in computational workflow development and automation.
Experience with OpenFOAM, atmospheric boundary-layer modeling, urban microclimate, or pollutant dispersion is a significant advantage. Collaborative communication skills and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary, international research environment are also important.
Interested candidates should contact Alessio Ricci by email and mention CFD Jobs Database record #20204. No application deadline or detailed funding package is provided in the announcement.
