USC Predoctoral Summer Institute for First-Generation Scholars in Political Science and Social Sciences University of Southern California in United States

University of Southern California (USC) is hosting the 6th Annual POIR Predoctoral Summer Institute for First-Generation Scholars on July 8–10. This opportunity is designed for first-generation undergraduate and MA students who are interested in pursuing a PhD in political science or related social sciences.

The institute is organized by USC’s Department of Political Science and International Relations (POIR) in the Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences. Participants will learn about PhD programs in political science, get guidance on competitive PhD applications, connect with USC faculty and current PhD students, and explore research, funding, and fellowship opportunities. The program also offers feedback on research statements, CVs/resumes, and writing samples.
