Dr. Abirami Santhanam is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Houston, USA. Her research focuses on the molecular mechanisms underlying retinal degeneration, particularly in the context of retinitis pigmentosa, as well as vector analyses involving photoreceptor synapses and viral interactions in human organoids. She has recently contributed to studies utilizing zebrafish models and single-cell RNA sequencing to explore these critical areas of vision science and viral biology.
