Postdoctoral Position in Power Systems Resilience, Optimization, and Reliability Engineering

Open postdoctoral position in Strategic Power Systems Development for the Future (PowerDev) , a France 2030 / ANR-PEPR-TASE project focused on proactive disaster response mitigation modelling and data-driven optimization for resilient power systems. The position is hosted at CentraleSupélec (University of Paris-Saclay) in France and is part of a broader consortium including CentraleSupélec, UVSQ, University Grenoble Alpes, Inria, and CNRS. The research sits at the interface of operations research , electrical engineering , and industrial engineering , with emphasis on optimization methods and reliability/resilience engineering for large-scale electrical power systems. The project aims to evaluate and optimize power-system resilience in the context of large-scale renewable energy integration, extreme events, climate scenarios, and grid complexity. The successful candidate will work closely with Professor Anne Barros and Associate Professor Adam Abdin , and will have opportunities to interact with project partners across the consortium. Eligibility highlights: a Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline (for example applied mathematics or operations research), strong knowledge of energy and electrical power systems, solid skills in quantitative modelling, statistics, mathematical programming, optimization, machine learning, and computer programming. Professional English is mandatory; spoken French is preferred. Funding and contract: the postdoctoral appointment is funded under ANR-PEPR-TASE / France 2030 and offered as an 18-month contract with a possibility of renewal. No salary or stipend amount is specified in the post.
