PhD opportunity in coral reef restoration and ocean dynamics at Imperial College London, starting in 2027. The project will investigate how ocean currents and temperature fluctuations influence coral reef restoration. The research brings together marine environmental science, oceanography and coral reef ecology to understand how changing physical conditions affect restoration outcomes. The PhD may combine fieldwork in Indonesia with analysis of oceanographic data, laboratory experiments and numerical modelling. This interdisciplinary design offers opportunities to connect observations from coral reef environments with controlled experiments and computational approaches. The student will work in collaboration with international partners, contributing to research at the intersection of ocean processes, climate-related variability and practical coral reef restoration.
