The project, TRCAT (Transcription–Replication Conflicts as Anti-Cancer Targets), focuses on how transcription–replication conflicts generate replication stress, DNA damage, and genome instability in cancer cells, and how these vulnerabilities can be exploited therapeutically.
The successful candidate will work on combinatorial CRISPR screens, molecular mechanisms of genome instability, drug assays targeting TRC-associated dependencies, preclinical models such as spheroids and wound-healing assays, and functional genomics/computational analyses.
We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with a background in genome instability, DNA repair, replication stress, chromatin biology, cancer biology, CRISPR, functional genomics, and mammalian cell culture. Strong publication record and evidence of independent research ability are essential; experience with R, Python, or HPC is an advantage.
This is a 2-year fully funded junior postdoctoral position with a competitive salary following the University of Barcelona scale. Location: University of Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain. Tentative start date: January 1, 2027 (flexible).
