Professor Alem Teklu is the Interim Department Chair at the College of Charleston, USA. His research focuses on the control and dynamics of coherent phonons and magnons within advanced materials, particularly in the context of hybrid phononic and spintronic devices. Recent publications include studies on the elastic moduli of atomically thin transition metal dichalcogenides and the optical control of dynamics in van der Waals materials.
