Postdoctoral Research Assistant opportunity at the University of Oxford in the Department of Engineering Science / Institute of Biomedical Engineering , working with Professor Alison Noble and the Noble research group at the Old Road Campus in Headington, Oxford. The project sits at the intersection of temporal reasoning , ultrasound video analysis , human-AI collaboration , machine learning , medical image analysis , and computer vision . The research aims to develop AI for shared human-AI decision-making in healthcare imaging, including design and pilot testing of automated ultrasound video analysis models that incorporate temporal reasoning. The role also includes evaluating how human behaviour may change when using temporal reasoning ultrasound AI tools, with both quantitative model evaluation and qualitative human-factors assessment. This is a full-time , fixed-term 24-month post funded by UKRI . Salary is £39,424 - £47,779 per annum inclusive of Oxford University weighting. Applicants should hold a relevant PhD/DPhil (or be near completion) and have publications in medical image analysis or computer vision video analysis . Prior knowledge of ultrasound imaging is not required, but an interest in machine learning research with real-world applications is essential. To apply, submit an online application before midday on 17 August 2026 . Required materials include a cover letter/supporting statement with a brief statement of research interests, a CV , and the details of two referees .
