Sunway University is advertising a fully funded PhD scholarship in photonics and optical communications, supervised/announced by Prof. Angela A. , Head of the Photonics Research Laboratory at Sunway University. The research areas include optical wireless communications , optical satellite communications , optical sensing and imaging , orbital angular momentum modes , optical artificial intelligence , and quantum communications . This is a strong fit for applicants interested in electrical engineering , physics , and related computing/AI methods in photonics. Funding: 100% tuition fee waiver plus a monthly stipend of RM3,000 . Eligibility highlights: full-time, on-site PhD students only; applicants should have a Master’s degree with CGPA above 3.50, or a first-class Bachelor’s degree. A background in optical communications, photonics, telecommunications, physics, optical sensing, wireless networking, quantum communications, or artificial intelligence is preferred. Prior hands-on experimental experience and several Scopus-indexed or equivalent publications are also preferred.
