About

Astrid Ferrer is a Research Specialist and part-time Lecturer at the University of Illinois System, USA. Her research areas encompass tropical forest ecology, focusing on wood decay processes and community interactions among fungi and invertebrates in diverse habitats. Recent publications include studies on the utilization of tree fern fronds and the effects of temperature on wood decay rates, as well as investigations into fungal communities associated with various tree species in tropical environments.
