Cardiovascular Research & Tissue Engineering Summer School in Vienna for Biomedicine, Bioengineering, and Early-Career Researchers

The Cardiovascular Research & Tissue Engineering Summer School, hosted by the Medical University of Vienna, offers an immersive educational experience for students, MD/PhD candidates, and early-career researchers passionate about cardiovascular science and biomedical innovation. The program runs from July 13–17, 2026, in Vienna, Austria, and is designed to provide foundational and advanced knowledge in cardiovascular health, research methodologies, and the latest technological innovations. Participants will engage in keynote lectures and practical workshops covering topics such as cardiovascular pathophysiology, heart failure, vascular biology, cardioprotection, animal models, high-resolution respirometry, imaging techniques (echo, MRI, CT, PET), tissue engineering, 3D bioprinting, and AI in cardiology. The curriculum balances lectures, hands-on activities, and networking opportunities, including evening receptions and a guided visit at the Josephinum. The international faculty features experts from Austria, Switzerland, Germany, the Netherlands, Hungary, and the UK, ensuring a global perspective and state-of-the-art expertise. Confirmed faculty include Prof. Anna Marsano, Prof. Petra Kleinbongard, Prof. Dirk Ducker, Prof. Zoltán Papp, and Prof. Manuel Mayr, coordinated by Ap. Prof. Dr. Attila Kiss and Univ. Prof. Dr. Dr. hc Bruno K Podesser. The course fee is €950, covering registration, lunch, morning coffee, one dinner, and a visiting tour. Applicants should be students or researchers in biomedicine, bioengineering, or related fields. The application deadline is 15 March 2026. For more information or to apply, contact [email protected] or [email protected]. This summer school is ideal for those seeking to deepen their expertise in cardiovascular research, tissue engineering, and translational medicine, while networking with peers and leaders in one of Europe’s leading biomedical hubs.
