The University of Graz is seeking a Project Assistant with a doctorate to join the Centre of European Private Law, with a focus on comparative and European private law and tort law. The position is based at the Institute for European Tort Law of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the University of Graz, with work locations in both Vienna and Graz. The successful candidate will collaborate on and coordinate third-party funded and research projects, conduct their own comparative legal research, participate in and lead courses, contribute to project applications, supervise students, and assist with organizational and administrative tasks. The role is ideal for candidates with a completed doctoral degree in law, particularly those with strong expertise in tort law within a Romanistic legal system. Excellent English skills are required, and knowledge of German or other languages is desirable. The position requires strong independent work skills, didactic competence, experience in research and teaching, comprehensive IT skills, and strong communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities. The contract is temporary, running until 31 December 2027, with an annual gross salary of at least €69,060.59 for a full-time position (20 hours per week, with the possibility to increase to 30 hours via a cooperation partner).
