Osnabrück University is recruiting a PhD candidate or postdoctoral researcher as a Research Associate to join an interdisciplinary team working at the interface of immunology and mechanobiology . The project, “Cyclic Mechanical Forces Sustain Cytotoxic Immune Competence,” examines how physiological mechanical forces encountered during circulation and breathing help maintain cytotoxic immune function. The research focuses on cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) and natural killer (NK) cells, which play essential roles in immune surveillance and the elimination of infected or malignant cells. Using advanced in vitro models, biomechanical stimulation platforms, live-cell imaging, flow cytometry, and molecular approaches, the researcher will investigate fundamental mechanisms through which mechanical cues regulate immune-cell function. The work combines cell biology, biomedical sciences, molecular biology, biotechnology, biophysics, and biomechanics in an interdisciplinary biomedical research environment at Osnabrück University in Osnabrück, Germany.
