Leipzig University is recruiting two PhD candidates in Neuroscience for the DFG-funded Research Training Group NeuroTune in Leipzig, Germany. The projects focus on circadian tuning of synaptic communication , investigating how neuronal circuits dynamically adjust presynaptic architecture , interneuron coupling , and transmitter signalling across the circadian cycle. The model system is Drosophila melanogaster , and the research combines neurogenetics , molecular biology , advanced imaging , neuropeptide signalling , adhesion GPCR biology , and behavioural neuroscience . The positions are based at the Faculty of Life Sciences and linked to the Faculty of Medicine at Leipzig University. The programme offers structured doctoral training and individual supervision by internationally recognised scientists in an interdisciplinary environment. Eligibility highlights: applicants should hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in Neuroscience, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology , or a related field. A strong neuroscience background is required, along with excellent English skills (at least C1 ) and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
