Dr. Elie Valcke is the Head of the Research Unit R&D Waste Packages at the Belgian Nuclear Research Centre SCK•CEN. His research focuses on the chemistry and behavior of waste materials, as reflected in his recent publications on topics including alkali concentration in cement pore solutions, long-term studies at the HADES and Mont Terri rock laboratories, pyrite oxidation, and the interactions of selenium in Opalinus clay. He contributes significantly to the understanding of waste management and environmental safety in nuclear contexts.
