Elina Virokannas

Elina Virokannas is a Professor at the University of Lapland, Finland. Her research areas focus on the vulnerabilities represented in contemporary literature, the experiences of older women with harmful substance use within the Finnish welfare service system, and treatment barriers encountered by female substance users. She has contributed to the discourse around gerontological substance social work and the contested nature of vulnerability through her recent publications.
