Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Antifungal Research and Azole Resistance in Aspergillus fumigatus

Postdoctoral Research Fellow position in antifungal research at the Medical University of Innsbruck , within the Antifungal Therapeutics and Resistance Group at the Institute of Molecular Biology (Biocenter). The project is titled Molecular Mechanisms of Azole Resistance in Aspergillus fumigatus and is funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) . The successful candidate will investigate molecular mechanisms underlying antifungal resistance in the human pathogenic mold Aspergillus fumigatus , with a particular focus on transcriptional regulatory circuits . The role combines research, dissemination, supervision, and grant writing in a dynamic international environment. Research keywords: molecular biology, microbiology, fungal genetics, antifungal resistance, azole resistance, biochemistry, omics approaches, RNA-seq, ChIP-seq, fluorescence microscopy, genetic engineering, fungal cell culture. Eligibility highlights: PhD or equivalent in Life Sciences (e.g., Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry); strong hands-on experience with cloning, RNA/DNA extraction, qPCR, protein biochemistry, and omics methods; interest in regulatory circuits and antifungal resistance; excellent English; German is helpful but not required. Experience supervising MSc/PhD students is desirable. Funding: full-time postdoc for 2 years, with a competitive FWF salary of €70,200.20 gross per year plus social benefits.
