About

Florian A. Männer is a Team Lead and Project Head at the Fraunhofer Society in Germany. His research areas focus on the application of field spectroscopy and machine learning to predict forage quality and quantity, as well as the impacts of land-use intensity on biodiversity and ecosystem functioning in semi-natural grasslands. He has also contributed to studies on the transferability of drone-based models for forage supply prediction in drier rangelands and the use of remote sensing and deep learning to assess plant biomass and species richness in temperate grasslands.
