Postdoctoral Fellow in RNA Biochemistry
at
Baylor College of Medicine
(Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Pharmacology, Tsai Laboratory) in
Houston, Texas, USA
.
This NIH-funded postdoctoral opening focuses on a novel family of stress-response ATPases that act on
RNA
and
ribonucleoprotein particles
. The project is strongly centered on
molecular biology
,
functional biochemistry
, RNA-protein interaction analysis, ribosome work, and protein purification/characterization.
Research activities
include RNA preparation, in vitro transcription, quantitative RNA-protein binding assays, ribosome preparation, in vitro translation assays, recombinant protein overexpression, and protein purification. The fellow will analyze and interpret data, present at lab meetings, and help prepare manuscripts for publication.
Eligibility highlights:
PhD in biochemistry, molecular biology, or a related field; experience with RNA preparation, in vitro transcription, and quantitative RNA-protein binding assays; at least one first-author publication; and eligibility for J-1 visa sponsorship. Experience with ribosome preparation, in vitro translation, protein purification, and protein characterization is an advantage.
