Quaternary ammonium salts of [XW 11 O 39 M(H 2 O)] n − metal derivatives of polyoxometalates (X = P, Si; M = Cr, Mn, Co, Ni, Zn) were successfully tested as catalysts in the cycloaddition of CO 2 to styrene oxide in the absence of halides at moderate temperature (80 °C).
