Emory University School of Medicine is advertising a tenured/tenure-track faculty position in cancer cell biology and translational research on cancer mechanisms through the Department of Cell Biology, in joint search with the Winship Cancer Institute (Georgia’s NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center). The search is especially interested in candidates whose research complements existing strengths in stem cells , cell signaling , and epithelial biology , and who can synergize with translational cancer research at Winship. Priority areas include lung cancer , other epithelial cancers, genes and pathways altered in cancer, cancer organoids , and therapeutic targets. This is a faculty recruitment opportunity rather than a PhD/postdoc/masters opening. The preferred candidate is already in an independent faculty position with an established research program. For the Associate Professor level, active funding of at least one federally funded PI grant (for example, an R01) is required; Assistant Professors with federal PI funding are also eligible. Postdocs and other non-independent researchers are not eligible. Emory notes that the position includes a competitive start-up , a supportive environment, modern laboratory space, and access to state-of-the-art core facilities, including the Integrated Cellular Imaging Core Facility and the Emory Stem Cell and Organoids Core Facility. Faculty will also have opportunities to teach medical and graduate students and recruit trainees from multiple PhD programs. Application materials include a cover letter, CV, three recommenders with contact information, a 2-page research statement, a 1-page personal statement on mentorship and training, and a brief letter of interest explaining how the applicant’s work aligns with the Department of Cell Biology and Winship Cancer Institute. The final deadline is 2026-06-15 . For questions, contact Ms. Elizabeth McKenna at [email protected] with the subject line “Cell Biology Faculty Search.”
