PhD Researcher in Migration Studies and Gender
The University of Luxembourg invites applications for a doctoral researcher (PhD) position in migration studies and gender. This opportunity is based within the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE), a vibrant, interdisciplinary research environment with expertise spanning the humanities, linguistics, cognitive sciences, social sciences, and education. The faculty is committed to addressing social, economic, political, and educational challenges, aiming to foster an inclusive and innovative society.
The successful candidate will prepare a doctoral thesis on migration and gender, using qualitative and/or quantitative methods, in either English or French. The position includes participation in teaching activities and the organization of events within the Migration and Inclusive Societies (MIS) research group. The doctoral researcher will be affiliated with FHSE and MIS, with departmental affiliation determined by the supervisor’s department at the University of Luxembourg. A co-supervision arrangement with the University of Cape Verde is possible, depending on the supervisor’s affiliation.
Applicants must be citizens and residents of Cape Verde, with proof required. Eligible candidates should hold a master’s degree in humanities or social sciences, including psychology, anthropology, education, political science, sociology, or history. Operational language requirements include proficiency in English and/or French, with at least B2 level demonstrated in the thesis language.
