tenure-track Assistant Professor in Cognitive Science, AI & the Mind
at the Institute of Cognitive Science (ICS). This is an interdisciplinary faculty opening for scholars working at the intersection of
artificial intelligence
,
human cognition
, and related areas such as computational models of cognition, cognitive neuroscience, human-AI interaction, brain-computer interfaces, algorithmic bias, and philosophy of mind.
The position is housed in ICS, a highly interdisciplinary environment connecting faculty and students across psychology, neuroscience, linguistics, computer science, philosophy, education, and speech, language & hearing sciences. The successful candidate will have a tenure home in an appropriate department such as Computer Science, Information Science, the School of Education, Psychology and Neuroscience, or Linguistics.
Eligibility highlights:
applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Information Science, Cognitive Science, Learning Sciences, Psychology and Neuroscience, Linguistics, or a related field. The post seeks candidates with an outstanding publication record, evidence of securing or seeking external funding as a PI, a strong research plan, and a commitment to teaching and mentoring at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Interdisciplinary AI research and collaborative work are especially valued.
Funding and benefits:
this is a full-time faculty appointment with a starting salary range of
$85,000–$140,000
