About

Professor Jaroslav Polak is a senior researcher at the Institute of Physics of Materials, CAS, in the Czech Republic. His research interests focus on the mechanisms of fatigue crack growth in polycrystalline materials, including dislocation structures and the role of extrusions and intrusions in fatigue processes. He has contributed significantly to the understanding of cyclically strained materials through recent publications examining low-cycle fatigue and cyclic slip irreversibility.
