The student will examine natural, restored, and actively managed oyster reefs, with research on oyster populations, reef structure, ecological function, and habitat support. There is also room to develop independent dissertation questions within the broader project. This is a field-intensive Ph.D. opportunity in coastal science. Planned methods include quantitative diver surveys and dredge sampling, with field research in Texas bays.
