Postdoc in Neuroimaging, AI, and Brain Network Modeling at UT Southwestern Medical Center

UT Southwestern Medical Center’s Lee Lab in the Lyda Hill Department of Bioinformatics is recruiting an immediate Postdoctoral Fellow to work on neuroimaging, artificial intelligence, graph neural networks, brain network organization, and neurodegenerative disease . The position is led by Jeon Lee , Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center. The lab focuses on data-driven computational approaches for understanding structural-functional coupling and decoupling, network propagation under anatomical constraints, multiscale graph-spectral modeling, and explainable ML/AI. Recent work from the group includes an explainable GNN framework using diffusion MRI-derived structural connectivity and principled feature selection to identify biologically interpretable connectivity signatures in Parkinson’s disease and Essential Tremor. Potential projects include structural-functional connectivity decoupling in Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders, prediction of disease progression using structural connectivity and cortical atrophy, graph-based modeling of network propagation and selective vulnerability, and explainable ML methods for multimodal neuroimaging such as DTI, fMRI, and structural MRI. The lab environment is multidisciplinary and computationally intensive, with expertise spanning multi-omics, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, chemoinformatics, biomedical image analysis, and ML/AI across heterogeneous biomedical data. The department emphasizes collaboration with clinicians and experimental scientists across UT Southwestern. Funding and benefits: the Lyda Hill Department of Bioinformatics offers a competitive postdoctoral compensation package, including a base salary above NIH postdoctoral scales, comprehensive health benefits, and strong institutional support for professional development and career advancement. Eligibility: applicants should hold a PhD in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Neuroscience, Applied Mathematics, or a related field, and have a strong background in brain science, neurodegenerative disease, ML/AI, graph network analysis, mathematical/statistical modeling, or neuroimaging. Proficiency in Python and scientific computing is required. How to apply: email Jeon Lee with a current CV, a brief description of research interests and plans, and the names/contact information of 2–3 references. Institution: UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas, United States.
