Jin-Woo Kim

Funded PhD position available at the Bio/Nano Technology Group led by Professor Jin-Woo Kim at the University of Arkansas. The project sits at the intersection of materials science, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, sustainability, and controlled delivery systems. The research focus is on developing sustainable cellulose nanocrystal-based materials, including encapsulation systems, with applications in health and agriculture. Applicants should have a background in materials science, chemistry, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical engineering, food science, or a related discipline. Experience with polymers, colloidal systems, nanomaterials, encapsulation technologies, or biomaterials is desirable. An MS degree is preferred but not required. The position is open to international applicants and will start in Spring 2027, with Fall 2026 applications also considered.
