PhD opportunity in Computational Genomics and Precision Medicine at the University of Copenhagen , in the Rasmussen Group at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research (CBMR) . The project focuses on highly scalable computational methods for biobank-scale genomics , including analysis of genetic variation, haplotype information, genetic ancestry, disease-associated variants, and transferable disease-risk prediction models across diverse populations. The research sits at the intersection of statistical genetics , computational genomics , machine learning , and precision medicine , with a strong emphasis on common cardiometabolic diseases. The position is part of an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment working on AI-driven medical digital twins, multi-omics, genomics, and longitudinal health data. The PhD fellow will contribute to methodology development and work with large biomedical datasets to improve equitable genomic prediction. Eligibility highlights include a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Precision Medicine, or a related field equivalent to a Danish two-year master’s degree, a strong academic record, relevant professional qualifications, publications, and experience with large biobank datasets such as UK Biobank or All of Us. Excellent English communication skills are required. This is a 3-year PhD fellowship starting 1 January 2027 or by agreement. Salary, pension, and employment terms follow Danish academic agreements.
