Seven postdoctoral research fellow positions are open at the IIT Madras–Max Planck Institute for Chemistry Centre , with research themes spanning air pollution , emissions , climate economics , renewable energy , hydrology , and climate adaptation . The specific opening highlighted here is for the National Emission Inventories for India theme under Emissions & Policy . The project will focus on developing spatially and temporally resolved national emission inventories for India, integrating emissions with environmental, energy, and socio-economic data, and exploring applications for air-quality management , environmental policy , and climate-related research. Eligible candidates should have a PhD in atmospheric/climate science , earth system science , civil engineering , mechanical engineering , or a related field. Strong Python and/or R programming and data-analysis skills are expected, together with a strong publication record and interest in interdisciplinary research. The position is based at IIT Madras, Chennai, India , in collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry and international researchers. The expected start date is September 2026 , with some flexibility.
