Postdoc in Neuroscience: Sex Differences in Vascular Contributions to Dementia

Postdoc Position in Neuroscience – Vascular Contributions to Dementia A postdoctoral position is available in the Zuloaga Lab at Albany Medical College to study vascular contributions to dementia, with a particular focus on sex differences and sex-specific risk factors such as menopause. The project uses a broad translational toolkit including in vivo cerebral blood flow measurements, in vivo gene manipulation (AAVs), cognitive behavioral testing, endothelial translatome (TRAP-seq), transcriptomics, molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, mouse models of metabolic disease, menopause, and Alzheimer’s disease, as well as VCID and multi-etiology dementia research. The lab environment emphasizes open communication, motivation, teamwork, and innovative thinking. The PI, Kristen Zuloaga , is a Professor and Director of Graduate Studies in the Department of Neuroscience and Experimental Therapeutics at Albany Medical College. The postdoc will join a well-funded research program with opportunities for mentorship, professional development, seminars, journal clubs, conference presentations, and manuscript preparation. Eligibility highlights: Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Biomedical Sciences, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Physiology, or a related field. Strong independence, teamwork, communication, organization, and a publication record are expected. Background in neuroendocrinology, vascular biology, dementia, immunology, bioinformatics, or genetics is preferred. Funding: Salary will be at NIH suggested levels and includes healthcare benefits.
