Tenure-track Assistant Professor in Prokaryotic Microbiology and Molecular Processes

Stockholm University is recruiting a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Prokaryotic Microbiology with a focus on molecular processes . The position is based at the Department of Molecular Biosciences, Wenner-Grens Institute (MBW) , a strong international research environment connected to SciLifeLab in Solna. The department works across molecular cell biology, integrative biology, infection biology, and immunobiology, with a broad research culture and many research groups. This opportunity is especially relevant for researchers in prokaryotic microbiology, molecular microbiology, molecular processes in prokaryotic cells, cell interactions, infection biology, and related molecular biosciences . The successful candidate is expected to lead an independent research group and build internationally competitive experimental research. Responsibilities include research, some teaching, and supervision. The appointment is part of Stockholm University’s tenure-track career path and is initially temporary for up to six years, with possible extension to eight years for special reasons. After application and review, the appointee may be promoted to a permanent university lecturer position. Eligibility requires a PhD or equivalent foreign degree .
