PhD Position in Biofabrication and Biomaterials at the University of Bayreuth

PhD position available in biofabrication and biomaterials at the University of Bayreuth within the International Research Training Group Multidimensional Biomaterials [MB]² (GRK 3194). The advertised project focuses on site-specific cell immobilization on tubular biomaterial scaffolds , with research at the interface of biofabrication , biomaterials engineering , cell–material interactions , and advanced scaffold design . The broader programme combines materials science, biomedical engineering, pharmaceutical science, and life sciences across 10 interdisciplinary tandem PhD projects. [MB]² is a collaborative, international PhD training programme involving the University of Bayreuth , The University of Melbourne , Monash University , and Swinburne University of Technology . PhD students are integrated into both research environments in Bayreuth and Melbourne, and may earn a joint doctoral degree after spending 12 months at the partner institution. The programme is funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and includes funded PhD positions. The post is aimed at a highly motivated candidate interested in interdisciplinary research in an international and collaborative environment. Eligibility: applicants should hold a master’s degree or equivalent in biomedical engineering, biotechnology, chemical engineering, materials engineering, pharmaceutical engineering, or physics .
