Aarhus University is advertising a one-year postdoc position in building ventilation at the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering , Technical Sciences, Denmark. The project focuses on developing ventilation techniques to mitigate emissions from animal production facilities and on assessing animal heat stress . The successful candidate will work in the Building Science area and contribute to research that combines CFD modelling , heat and mass transfer , and dynamical systems modelling to improve ventilation development and thermal-status assessment for animals. The role also includes collaboration with project partners, colleagues across sections, and support for the research group, including supervision of PhD students and research assistants. Eligibility highlights: applicants should have a PhD degree or be near completion of the PhD in mechanical engineering , building science engineering , agricultural engineering , or a related field. Strong knowledge of building ventilation systems and heat/mass transfer is expected, together with experience in CFD for building ventilation and external flow. Experience or interest in data-driven dynamical modelling is also valued. Excellent English communication skills are required. Desirable experience includes basic knowledge of animal welfare, programming skills (Python, R, MATLAB, or similar), and a driving license. Funding and terms: this is a salaried postdoctoral employment at Aarhus University. The post is for 15 August 2026 to 14 August 2027 and may be extended depending on performance.
