Postdoctoral Researcher in AI for Social Cognition The Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) and the Department of Computer Science, Bioengineering, Robotics and Systems Engineering (DIBRIS) at the University of Genoa are seeking a postdoctoral researcher for the AIGO unit in Genoa, Italy. The project focuses on human-aligned cognitive systems and computational models of visual attention, social understanding, cross-modal learning and incremental learning. Research applications include social robotics, clinical assessment and cognitive rehabilitation. Candidates should have completed or be close to completing a PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field, with a strong research record in machine learning and computer vision. Experience with vision-language models or large language models is expected. Familiarity with eye-tracking, virtual reality, robotics or human-robot interaction is desirable, along with excellent written and spoken English. The appointment is for one year, with the possibility of renewal or extension, and includes a competitive yearly gross salary. The expected start is February or March 2027.
