The researchers will contribute to quantum system software and middleware development under Professor Makoto Negoro’s NEDO project on quantum system software and middleware engineer training. The work focuses on developing, maintaining, and operating software for transmitting and receiving microwaves to superconducting qubits, connecting systems to quantum cloud environments, and performing calibration. Duties also include project-related research and development, progress reporting, and participation in research meetings and presentations. Applicants from a broad range of backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including software engineering, quantum information experiments, quantum software, computer science, computer architecture, FPGA, and microwave engineering. A bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, strong programming ability, and Japanese proficiency sufficient for work are required. Experience with team software development, quantum-computer R&D or operation, leadership, or long-term university or industry R&D is desirable. The position is based at QIQB, Osaka University, 1-2 Machikaneyama-cho, Toyonaka, Osaka, Japan. It is a full-time fixed-term appointment beginning January 1, 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter.
