Two PhD positions are available at the University of Pisa, Italy in the new FIS3 project MATRIX — New Materials and Methods for the Fabrication of Organic Electronic Components on Complex Substrates . The project focuses on organic electronics , organic semiconductors , functional materials , direct laser writing , micro/nano-fabrication , sensors , electrochemical devices , microsystems , soft/hybrid micromachines , and 3D-integrated devices . Successful candidates will join an interdisciplinary research environment with opportunities in materials synthesis, device fabrication, advanced characterization, and 3D additive manufacturing of functional organic electronic systems. Preferred backgrounds include chemistry , materials science , physics , nanotechnology , engineering , biomedical engineering , or related fields.
