Maria Jose Santana is an Associate Professor at the University of Calgary Cumming School of Medicine in Canada. Her research focuses on health system evaluation frameworks, adolescent self-management in juvenile idiopathic arthritis, and experiences of hospitalizations during the COVID-19 pandemic. She is also involved in the development of surveys for social vulnerabilities in medical inpatients and improving paediatric inpatient experiences through comparative analyses. Additionally, her work includes quality improvement strategies in primary care and the application of natural language processing to categorize patient concerns.
