Maria Montserrat SALA

About

Maria Montserrat SALA is the Head of the Marine Biology and Oceanography Department at the Institut de Ciències del Mar in Spain. Her research focuses on the complex interactions between microalgae and their microbiomes, the roles of viruses and protists in marine environments, and the impacts of microplastics on microbial communities. She has authored and contributed to numerous articles addressing various aspects of marine microbial ecology, including studies on bathypelagic prokaryotic microbiomes and marine picoplankton metagenomes.
