Maria N Alme is the Head of Section and Associate Professor at the Western Norway University of Applied Sciences. Her research areas focus on geriatric rehabilitation, built environment accessibility, and the well-being of older adults. Recent publications include works on the preparedness of the Netherlands for an aging population, as well as studies on disability and mitochondrial dysfunction in neurological contexts. She is also engaged in international initiatives related to rehabilitation and community learning.
