Maris Gillette is a Professor of Social Anthropology at Göteborgs Universitet in Sweden. Her research focuses on sustainable rural fisheries tourism, food reterritorialization, and the impacts of mining heritage on tourism. Recent publications include studies on environmental knowledge integration in conservation and the dynamics of alternative food networks. Through her work, she aims to bridge the gaps between scientific understanding and indigenous knowledge systems.
