operations research and business analytics

Institute for Business Analytics and Technology Transformation
. The position is linked to the research group led by
Professor Markus Sinnl
, whose work focuses on optimization, mixed integer programming, bilevel optimization, multi-objective optimization, and the hybridization of optimization with artificial intelligence and machine learning.
The postdoctoral researcher will conduct original research, publish in high-ranking journals, present at international conferences, teach two courses per semester, co-supervise master’s and bachelor’s theses, contribute to administrative tasks, and collaborate on research projects. The advertised research environment emphasizes both theoretical and computational aspects of optimization and applications such as business analytics, systems biology, social network analysis, districting, facility location, and network design.
Eligible backgrounds
include mathematics, computer science, statistics, operations research, machine learning, and quantitatively oriented social/economic sciences, or equivalent qualifications. The post specifically asks for experience in modeling and implementing algorithms for optimization problems, programming skills in C/C++, Python, Java, or Julia, journal publications appropriate to academic age, teaching experience in business analytics or related areas, and strong English proficiency (C1).
