PhD in Supramolecular Chemistry and Antiviral Development

PhD opportunity at Sorbonne University, France in supramolecular chemistry , glycochemistry , and antiviral development . The position is hosted at the Institut Parisien de Chimie Moléculaire (IPCM) , Sorbonne University, within the Organic, Biological Glycochemistry and Supramolecular Chemistry team (GOBS). The project sits at the chemistry-biology interface and aims to design self-assembling β-cyclodextrin systems and new supramolecular inhibitors with activity against respiratory viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 and Influenza . Research themes include organic synthesis, supramolecular assembly, host–guest interactions, glycochemistry, virology, and antiviral mechanism-of-action studies. The project also involves collaboration with virology and microbiology partners to evaluate antiviral activity and extend the modular strategy to other viral targets. Eligibility highlights : applicants should hold a Master’s degree in Chemistry , have a strong background in organic synthesis , and show interest in interdisciplinary research. Good English, autonomy, teamwork, rigor, and scientific curiosity are expected. Experience in supramolecular chemistry, glycochemistry, or chemistry-biology interface work is welcome but not mandatory. Application : send a CV, cover letter, academic transcripts, and, if available, recommendation letters or referee contacts to the supervisors by email. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interview. Supervisors : Matthieu Sollogoub and Mickaël Ménand, Sorbonne University.
