Fully Funded PhD Studentships in Mathematical Modelling of Pharmaceutical Processes at University of Limerick

Two fully funded PhD studentships are available at the University of Limerick in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics , supported by the Rinn Pharma & Biopharma research centre under the theme Predictive Materials Design & Model-driven Process Control (PMC) . The projects are centered on mathematical modelling for pharmaceutical processes , with one project on mathematical modelling of drug release from drug delivery platforms into tissue, and another on mechanistic modelling for continuous crystallization and pharmaceutical units, including transitions from micro to macro states. These topics are well suited to applicants interested in applied mathematics, process modelling, pharmaceutical engineering, drug delivery, crystallization, and model-driven control. Each studentship is fully funded and provides a €25,000 per year stipend for four years (tax free). Additional funds are available for conference attendance and training activities. EU student fees are covered automatically ; non-EU fee details are not specified in the post and should be confirmed with the lead supervisor. The programme also includes a structured cohort-based PhD training environment with transferable skills training, domain-specific training, peer-led learning, research seminars, workshops, reading groups, and career development support. Applicants should express interest via the linked form. The post states that there is no closing date , but screening and interviews are already underway and will continue until the positions are filled. Because the form must be completed in one sitting, applicants should prepare their responses in advance. Supervisors named in the post are Professor Michael Vynnycky and Doctor Mehakpreet Singh at the University of Limerick.
