PhD scholarship in self-driving labs for ligand design in nanocrystal synthesis and catalysis

PhD scholarship in self-driving labs for ligand design in nanocrystal synthesis and catalysis at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) . This PhD project focuses on making ligand identity a continuous, model-driven design variable inside closed-loop autonomous experimentation . The work combines high-throughput synthesis and optical characterization of cesium lead halide perovskite nanocrystals , DFT-based ligand libraries , surrogate models, and a Bayesian optimizer for self-driving lab workflows. You will work across three connected areas: (1) experimental nanocrystal synthesis and characterization at DTU, (2) computational chemistry and model building, and (3) a distributed self-driving lab linking DTU with platforms at North Carolina State University . The project includes a 6-month research stay in the Abolhasani Lab . Eligibility highlights: an MSc in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, data science, or a related field; useful background in nanocrystal synthesis, catalysis, computational chemistry, Bayesian optimization, or lab automation.
